$54 Million in Tobacco Verdicts in 6 Months

The Alvarez Law Firm has successfully obtained 2 separate jury verdicts on behalf of smokers in South Florida. In February 2010 the firm represented Robin Cohen who lost her husband of 30 years to lung cancer. The jury awarded Mrs. Cohen $10 million in compensatory damages and $20 in punitive damages for a total of $30 million. In July 2010 a Broward County, jury awarded Ellen Tate who has been suffering with severe Emphysema since 1996, $8 million in compensatory damages and $16 million in punitive damages for a total of $24 million.
